The Royal Society of Miniature Painters Sculptors and Gravers. The Society's Aims are to Esteem, Protect and Practice the traditional 16th Century art of miniature painting emphasizing the infinite patience needed for its fine techniques. They have their own website.

The Hilliard Society of Miniaturists was formed at the end of 1981 by Rosalind Pierson and Sue Burton and a group of artists based in England's West Country, in the historic Cathedral city of Wells. Sue and Rosalind believed that at that time most people knew very little about miniature art - its history or its present day form - and wanted to rectify the situation by bringing miniatures to the attention of a wider audience. The Dorothy L Sayers Society was founded in 1976 to promote the study of the life, works and thoughts of this great scholar and writer, to encourage the performance of her plays and the publication of books by and about her, to preserve original material for posterity and to provide assistance for researchers. It acts as a forum and information centre, putting members in touch with other workers and sources of information, and providing for study purposes material not otherwise available.  Website>>

The World Federation of Miniaturists was formed in 1995 on the initiative of the Miniature Artists of America. Its first world exhibition was hosted in November 1995 by the Royal Miniature Society. Its express purpose is to encourage communication between miniature art societies of the world and to introduce this art form to the public. The Society holds world exhibitions every four or five years, the latest one being held at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC from Saturday 19th June to Monday 12th July 2004. Website>>
